The world-famous Ayr stones Tam O Shanter , Dalmore Blue and Dalmore yellow were mined in Western Scotland near Ayr. This ‘street’ of stones is ranging from coarse to extremely fine grits. You can sharpen everything on it, from axes to surgical knives, which is why this range was very popular right up to the closing of the mines. After that, the stones that were left were quickly bought by collectors, who realized that these natural stones would become extinct and never be available again.
That is why, being ‘deMessenslijper’ (theKnifesharpener), I am extremely proud of discovering an old stock of new, labeled Ayr stones, which I can offer you! Consider it a very great opportunity or even an investment. These are super rare stones from finds that cause a stir among collectors and connoisseurs all over the world (just search google.)
If you order a stone, you will not get the specific one in the photo, but another stone with the same specifications from the stock. If desired, I will send you photos of a number of stones to choose from (click on a name or picture for a first impression).
